  • Heirlooms Heirlooms A very well respected fabric restoration/preservation specialist was sent this family heirloom to restore and mount. The client, from USA,was directed here by the Boston Museum. Upon completion of the restoration process, it was recommended that Whyte's Framing should mat/frame/glaze with preservation in mind. A lot of long distance talk/photo suggestions ensued and the final piece was then shipped off to the mid west.
  • Photographs Photographs A photographer friend took this shot of the side of a building in India. The artwork is actually an advertisement for tea. The photo was enlarged at a specialty store in Victoria and then brought to Whyte's Framing for mounting, framing and UV resistant acrylic glazing .
  • Rare Finds Rare Finds A piece made from cigar leaves , bark and other materials that a friend brought back from Cuba. The artwork is raised and floated on a painted mat background . Another mat is placed to hold the UV resistant glass above the artwork.

  • Sports Memories Sports Memories Memories of 1976 end of season dual slalom race ( race side by side on two courses, switching courses for second run ) on Silver Star near Vernon B.C. Medals are recessed to clear the glass.
  • A Little History A Little History Dad made the housing/mount to display the authentic ship's wheel complete with working bearings to enable movement of the wheel. This was done in memory of my brother-in-law Ron Parke and is a fixture in the Comox Marina office on the wharf. A project Ron never saw completed before cancer took him.
